About Me

I am a third-year undergraduate student from India – pursuing a double major in Computer Engineering and Computer Science at Duke University. In addition to engineering, I am also working towards the Innovation & Entrepreneurship certificate, along with additional coursework in finance and statistics. Within my major, I am particularly inclined towards computer network architecture and its applications to blockchains and cryptocurrency – since I love learning about algorithms and the mathematics behind computing. Having grown up in a developing country and around rural communities, I am deeply passionate about solving problems related to poverty and financial exclusion – specifically via the use of financial technology. Going forward, I hope to use my engineering skills to research meaningful innovations in this industry and, if possible, even start a business which enables me to materialize my goals.

Outside class, I enjoy spending my time at the gym with my friends, mostly training in my favourite sports - Krav Maga and Taekwondo. I believe practicing martial arts from childhood has not only helped me gain skills in self-defence, but also taught me the value of discipline and integrity in life. Moreover, as a Sikh, I am enthusiastic about taking a proactive role in my religious community as well. At Duke, for instance, I co-founded the school’s Sikh Society to help students like me engage meaningfully with others on campus and spread awareness about the principles of inclusion and tolerance that are central to my faith. In my free time, I also enjoy playing the tabla, making interesting stuff using Duke’s 3D printers, reading history and exploring new languages and cultures from all over the world.
